By creating a win-win situation for everyone involved.
This is what your donations are used for:
Bringing RESTORE™ to Africa to save lives
RESTORE™
According to a report on sub-Saharan Africa issued by the World Health Organization ("WHO"), diarrheal diseases are the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in children under the age of five. In the same report, children in the region suffer five (5) episodes of diarrhea per year and over 800,000 die each year from diarrhea and dehydration -- more than AIDS, malaria, and measles combined.
Diarrhea: What we know -- Diarrhea causes death by depleting bodily fluids resulting in profound dehydration.
UNICEF and WHO recommends the following treatment for diarrhea: (1) fluid replacement (oral rehydration therapy) to prevent dehydration; and (2) zinc treatment. However, if the diarrhea is not stopped, any fluid replacement will be of little benefit.
That's where RESTORE™ comes in. High Point Technology Ltd. manufactures RESTORE™, an all natural digestive health supplement. The all-natural ingredients in RESTORE™ have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-parasitic properties to stop diarrhea quickly, so that the body may be rehydrated with necessary fluid replacement.
JustUsFriends, Inc. ("JUF") is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization out of Arlington, Texas (www.justusfriends.us). We provide JUF with RESTORE™ for their medical clinics in Arusha, Tanzania, and in Usa River (Tanzania), where JUF provides free medical care to children and adults and to five (5) individual orphanages.
Bringing light
into the
darkness
SOLAR LIGHTING
According to the U.S. Agency for International Development, two out of three sub-Saharan Africans — 600 million people — lack access to electricity, forcing them to spend significant amounts of their income on costly and unhealthy forms of energy, like diesel to run factory generators and smoky and scarce wood for indoor fires for cooking.
According to the World Bank, “[M]ore than a century after the light bulb was invented most of the African continent is still in the dark after nightfall. School children often cannot read after dusk, businesses cannot grow, and clinics cannot refrigerate medicine or vaccines, and industries are idled hampering economic growth, jobs, and livelihoods.”
The vast majority of people served do NOT have any electricity in their home. Your generous contribution will provide an exclusive AidtoLive solar light package (pictured above) that will be distributed to families in need. When fully charged, each super bright LED lamp can provide up to six (6) hours of continuous light.
Providing light to those who don’t have it has the potential to lift people out of poverty, allowing them to be more productive. In turn, they can earn money to better their life.
Help Save the Elephants. Stop poaching now
POACHING
Africa loses 4 elephants to poachers EVERY HOUR, EVERY DAY of the year. It is estimated that less than 400,000 elephants survive today.
35,000 African elephants were killed for their ivory in 2012. The rate of poaching was expected to increase 30% in 2013… which means up to 45,000 elephants may have died… that’s one every 15 minutes!
Your donations will go to organizations we have identified who are proactively doing something to STOP poachers! Viva el elefante!
Supporting
Maasai women entrepreneurs
These Maasai women can no longer bear children. As a result, they have been "removed" from their villages and are supporting themselves by making and selling craftswear. Your generosity help these Maasai women create jobs and contribute to their survival. To thank you for your generous donation, you may choose to receive a beautiful neckwear jewelry made by these proud and talented Maasai women (coming soon - stay tuned).
Supporting Maasai communities
To thank you for your generous donation of U.S. $100 (or more), you will receive an authentic pair of Maasai footwear made by the Maasai and worn by the Maasai. Your donations help the Maasai create jobs and contribute to the Maasai economy and community.
